Responsibilities:
Assemble and test prototype medical equipment and disposables. Work alongside engineers to recommend design and process refinements.
Carry out test protocols, DOEs, and other experiments prepared by engineers with little assistance
Designs test flow and writes test procedures.
Apply basic engineering principles and practices to assist in solving design and development problems
Generation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Interfaces with engineering, quality and production personnel on various projects.
May interface with external vendors and customers.
Machine test fixtures and complete production reworks (as needed)
Design, release test fixture documentation and implement fixturing into production (as needed)
Order and organize lab supplies
Oversee maintenance, calibration, and repairs of equipment
Ensuring lab is clean, organized and well maintained.
Perform other duties as required to support R&D and operations goals
Qualifications:
8-10 years of previous experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment
Desired experience: complex disposables; intravascular catheters; optoelectrical subsystems
Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent; some college course work in engineering or a technical discipline is preferred Proficient with good documentation practices; primary responsibilities are lab notebooks and test datasheet records Must be hands-on, independently capable of managing time and priorities, and demonstrates initiative and self-motivation Capable of reading engineering drawings Ability to use measuring tools Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills Capable of reading engineering drawings and schematics Available during core business hours of 9AM-5PM. Willing to work overtime (up to 50 hour week) if required. Proficiency with machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, press, etc) is desired. Proficiency with soldering techniques and cable assembly is desired. Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel; SolidWorks proficiency is desired.
