Responsibilities:
Develop the team’s shader technology, including implementing high-level features and maintaining low-level shader code organization and optimization.
Collaborate closely with graphics programming and core tech teams to ensure game performance and visual quality standards.
Support content teams by debugging issues related to tools, assets, or framerate.
Lead the development of features, toolsets, and pipelines needed by the art department.
Facilitate technology sharing across art departments to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist, with experience shipping a major title in a relevant role.
Proficiency in shader languages, including Unreal Engine.
High proficiency in debugging with RenderDoc.
Experience with art and content development in lighting, VFX, and shaders.
Understanding of both 2D and 3D art workflows for games.
Excellent communication skills and ability to act as an ambassador between Art and Engineering teams.
Proven critical thinking skills, especially in translating artistic requirements into sustainable workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
High proficiency in Unreal Engine and shader networks.
Experience creating high visual fidelity content within hardware limitations.
Experience with content creation software such as Houdini, Substance Designer, Maya, etc., either as a user or tools developer.
Experience with mobile platforms and VR development.
Compensation:
$153,000/year to $212,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
