Learning and Development and Learning Management System (LMS) Specialist
for the
Office of Human Resources .
The Learning and Development/LMS Specialist is responsible for assessing organizational needs to drive training initiatives and implementing suitable training solutions. The Learning and Development Specialist will have the primary role of managing and maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS). The ideal candidate will be experienced in training, instructional design, facilitation, eLearning, customer-friendly, and a team player. The Learning and Development Specialist will actively create, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate effective methods to educate and enhance the performance of all employees.

Primary Duties
Learning Management System (LMS)
Serves at the primary LMS point of contact for internal customers and manages the eLearning email account by troubleshooting LMS-related issues and responds to both email and phone inquiries from eLearning customers. Support users in the use of the LMS as needed. Liaise with the LMS vendor to resolve technical issues related to LMS functionality. Develop and maintain system guides and standard operating procedures to ensure all processes are appropriately documented. Manage and maintain system content, upload courses or other training items, build learning paths, optimize system performance, as needed. Responsible for facilitating user experience with the LMS by creating learning campaigns, posting relevant updates about new LMS features, and other important announcements to drive user engagement. Create and manage LMS learner accounts, ensuring consistency and accuracy of the data. Assist Subject Matter Experts, OED Team, and other groups to design, develop, and implement engaging eLearning courses for an effective online training environment. Generate reports/metrics as requested. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of eLearning as it relates to Human Resources and university strategic efforts. Monitor and administer learning management systems security to include support for addition and removal of user access, quota administration, audits and security problem resolution.
Learning and Development
Designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs that enhance the competencies of employees at all levels to align with the strategic efforts of the university. Develops and prepares training materials including presentations, instructor guides, participant guides, job aids, and learning activities based on adult learning principles. Utilizes blended learning platforms and learning technologies to enhance the learner experience and application of learning. Oversees the design and preparation of training materials, develops instructional content, and determines methodology. Assist in conducting organizational assessments, diagnostics, consulting/coaching, and develops action plan to address specific to meet individual, department, and divisional needs consistent with Human Resource planning and organizational strategic efforts supporting the University’s strategic plan. Consultant with campus leadership, managers, and supervisors, regarding departmental competencies and performance issues, change management, and process improvement Establishes and maintains collaborative professional relationships with departmental personnel, including management, in order to plan training sessions.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience:
Two (2) years related HR or LMS system administration experience with one of the mainstream LMS platforms (e.g., Skillsoft Percipio, LinkedIn Learning, Cornerstone).

Proficient in the use and functions of learning management software and systems.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Hiring Range: $65,000 - $79,700, commensurate with education and experience.
