The Position The Director of Recruitment and Strategic Initiatives is responsible for guiding the execution of a comprehensive enrollment plan for the recruitment and retention of Case Western Reserve University’s undergraduate students. Joining a six-person leadership team responsible for the vision within enrollment management, the Director has oversight of strategic enrollment planning, marketing, program development, student recruitment initiatives, and evaluation of recruitment programs. The Director will provide direction and leadership in the development and implementation of growth strategies for CWRU programs to foster optimal enrollment of qualified students, and assist in recruitment activities including traveling domestically and abroad as needed, and participating in on campus recruitment programs. Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications Candidates for this position should have eight years of progressive experience in admission or a related field with significant professional work experience in undergraduate admission marketing and communication. Experience working with Slate is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is strongly preferred. Sophisticated understanding of enrollment strategies, market, and demographic research. Strong understanding of the use of technology in recruitment required; Slate experience preferred. Outstanding interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, including tact and diplomacy. Effective utilization of organizational, planning and analytical skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time. Knowledge of recruitment strategies, including prospective student management, marketing, and targeted recruitment efforts. Proven ability to work in a high stress, accountable, deadline-driven environment. Working knowledge of print, electronic and social media production, website development and maintenance, database management, statistical data interpretation, and application of state-of-the-art information technology as applied to recruitment programs. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers face to face. Collaborative team player who has the ability to work with tact, diplomacy, and humor in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
