Salary Range: $5,083.00 to $7,228.00 per month. The starting salary depends on qualifications and experience, typically between $5,083.00 and $6,155.00. Located in Hayward with views of the San Francisco Bay, Cal State East Bay offers a vibrant teaching and learning environment with additional campuses in Concord and Oakland. Established in 1957, it is part of the California State University system, emphasizing academic innovation, student success, diversity, and sustainability. About the Position:

Review of applications begins August 19, 2025. The position is part of the EXCEL program, a federal grant supporting low-income, first-generation, and disabled undergraduates through academic advising, career planning, tutoring, and personal counseling. The counselor will serve a caseload of students, providing guidance and support to help them succeed academically and personally. Responsibilities include:

Providing comprehensive advisement and counseling to students individually and in groups. Recruiting, enrolling, and supporting students' academic development. Analyzing student skills and academic performance to assist with program planning and career exploration. Maintaining detailed records, including academic progress and counseling contacts. Developing solutions for student problems and making appropriate referrals. Conducting workshops and maintaining regular contact with students. Additional duties:

Program planning and coordination. Representation on campus committees and involvement in campus activities. Participation in professional development and campus events. Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of professional experience in student services or a related field. A master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Education:

Graduation from a four-year college or university in behavioral sciences, administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of student services practices and program management. Ability to interpret rules, develop solutions, and work with diverse populations. Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills. Conditions of Employment:
