None Job Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 2 years
of recent ER experience ( required ). Charge nurse experience (required) . Community hospital experience (required) . First-time travelers accepted .
Certifications:
Active MD or Compact RN license
(required at submission). BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
(required; CPI completed on-site during orientation). Preferred (not required):
TNCC, NRP.
Skills & Competencies:
Triage, emergency stabilization, and rapid assessment
of
all age groups
(neonates to geriatrics). Procedures:
IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care . Chest tube management, intubation, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation . 12-lead EKG, dysrhythmia interpretation, procedural sedation .
Pediatric emergencies:
Asthma, seizures, sickle cell crisis, UTI, abuse recognition. Psychiatric emergencies:
Acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, overdose management. Trauma/ortho:
Splint application, multisystem trauma care.
Charting System:
Epic (required) . Unit & Patient Care Details
Patient Population:
All ages
(neonates, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics). Volume:
~90 visits/day;
36 beds, 32 rooms . Staffing Ratio:
1:4
(may vary). Facility Certifications:
STEMI Certified
(cardiac emergencies). Stroke Certified
(CVA/neuro emergencies).
Interdisciplinary Support:
Respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Stabilization:
Manage
critical cases
(STEMI, stroke, trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure). Administer
emergency meds
(vasopressors, paralytics, sedation).
Procedures & Interventions:
IV starts, blood transfusions, intubation support, chest tube care . Psychiatric holds
and de-escalation (CPI training provided).
Floating:
May float to
4 other ED locations
within the SRH system. Holidays:
Required as scheduled (may request
one major winter holiday off ). Facility & Compliance Requirements
Licensure:
Active MD or Compact RN license
(submission requirement). Vaccinations:
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) . COVID-19 vaccine not required .
