Coherent Technical Services, Inc is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (junior to journeyman level) to work at Naval Air Warfare Center Webster Outlying Field (NAWC WOLF), St. Inigoes, MD supporting Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATC&LS) Division. The role will perform the following tasks: Coordinate with system engineers/technicians/developers to perform cybersecurity evaluations for quarterly and annual deliverables. Ensure that information systems comply with applicable DISA STIG guidelines or have reasonable exceptions using the EvaluateSTIG toolkit and manual configuration checks. Evaluate system vulnerabilities with ACAS scans via Tenable Security Center software. Make improvement recommendations to system SMEs using a combination of ACAS vulnerability findings and Open STIG items. Update Security Control Family Plans as part of Annual Security Reviews following the review of security controls in eMASS. Update RMF documentation for MFRs, IATTs, and ATOs, as necessary, including hardware, software, and network boundaries diagrams, documents, and databases (DADMS, MCCAST). Maintain positive control and security of all hardware external to the system that interfaces with a given system, including offline scanning laptops and hard drives. Update briefing slides for weekly/bi-weekly meetings indicating the system’s RMF/ATO status. Education/Certifications: B.S. degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or technical-related discipline from an accredited school. Comply within 6-months at the IAT Level II baseline certifications (Security +) as defined in SECNAV M-5239.2. OR Education/Certifications: A.S. degree or (2) years of college in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or technical-related discipline from an accredited school. Comply within 6-months at the IAT Level II baseline certifications (Security +) as defined in SECNAV M-5239.2. Experience: Would prefer a total of (2) years of experience performing the above duties and responsibilities, preferably with DoD or government agencies, but not required. Possess a strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Possess strong organization, documentation, and project management skills. Understand government processes and procedures. U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
