The Grant Manager position at Morgan State University is responsible for overseeing the administration of a 3-year education grant. This role ensures the successful implementation, financial oversight, compliance, and reporting of the grant, aligning with the university’s mission to enhance educational opportunities and institutional impact.
By managing budgets, coordinating stakeholders, and evaluating program outcomes, the Grant Manager supports faculty, staff, and external partners in maximizing the effectiveness of the funded initiatives. This position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while optimizing the grant’s contributions to the university’s academic and community engagement goals.
Grant Administration: Oversee all aspects of the grant, including planning, execution, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Financial Management: Develop and monitor budgets, track expenditures, and ensure appropriate allocation of funds. Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and submit financial and performance reports to funding agencies and institutional leadership. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with faculty, staff, community partners, and external agencies to align grant objectives with institutional goals. Program Evaluation: Monitor project milestones, assess outcomes, and recommend adjustments to improve program effectiveness. Other Administrative Duties (5%): Assist with office administrative tasks related to grant activities, such as scheduling meetings and maintaining correspondence.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Experience Required
At least 3-5 years of experience in grant management, administration, or a related role. Experience in financial oversight, budget management, and compliance monitoring. Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant regulations and reporting requirements.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Education Preferred
Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Grant Management, Public Administration, or Higher Education Administration).
Licensure/Certification Preferred
Certification in Grant Management (e.g., Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) or similar credential).
Experience Preferred
Experience in an educational institution, nonprofit, or government agency Previous work with grant management software and financial systems.
