Manager of Financial Reporting . In this role, you will play a critical role in overseeing both internal and external financial reporting processes. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you’ll be responsible for delivering precise, timely, and insightful financial reports that support executive management, Private Equity (PE) sponsors, and lenders.
The candidate must be located within a commutable distance to Columbia, MD. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office/3 days remote.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Executive & Internal Financial Reporting
Lead the preparation, analysis, and delivery of monthly and quarterly internal management reports, ensuring alignment with business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Operations, and Business Units) to collect and validate financial and operational data. Develop and present executive-level financial reports and board materials that provide clear insights into financial performance, business trends, and strategic initiatives. Partner with the Director of FP&A on strategic presentations for the Board of Directors, PE sponsors, and executive leadership.
Private Equity & Lender Reporting
Manage all aspects of financial reporting required by Private Equity sponsors and lending partners, ensuring compliance with complex reporting requirements and strict deadlines. Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely reporting packages, including covenant calculations, lender compliance certificates, and performance dashboards. Serve as the primary point of contact for PE sponsors and lenders on financial reporting, addressing inquiries and providing detailed variance analyses and supporting data as needed.
Reporting Accuracy & Process Optimization
Establish and continuously improve financial reporting processes, controls, and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Conduct in-depth reviews of financial data to guarantee consistency, integrity, and reliability in reporting. Drive enhancements in reporting tools and dashboards, leveraging BI solutions such as Power BI and Tableau to deliver actionable insights and streamline reporting workflows.
Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to align financial reporting with forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning activities. Partner with the Accounting team during the month-end close to ensure accurate financial results and timely analysis. Assist in the development and implementation of reporting systems, contributing to a data-driven culture across the organization.
Ad Hoc Analysis & Strategic Initiatives
Support ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and strategic initiatives as directed by the Director of FP&A and executive leadership. Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support investment decisions, capital allocation, and operational improvements.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or equivalent professional certification preferred). 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, or related finance roles. Experience in a Private Equity-backed company or lender reporting environment is highly preferred.
Technical & Analytical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint with hands-on experience using financial reporting systems (Oracle NetSuite preferred) and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau. Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting principles, and financial consolidation processes. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
