Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, including the building, grounds, and equipment of the facility. These responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure the facility remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Maintain a safe, compliant, and high-functioning work environment, ensuring safety remains a top organizational priority. Manage, supervise, and provide accountability for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of power production systems, including ventilation, control consoles, and related infrastructure. Conduct regular facility rounds to inspect all maintenance areas, ensuring quality control, safety, and operational readiness. Report or correct issues immediately. Take proactive steps to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable facility operations. Ensure all critical systems—including HVAC, fire alarm, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, and mechanical equipment—are fully functional and in compliance with required certifications. Act as the Operations Manager’s representative, ensuring all plant task orders and operational goals are met. Oversee timely and effective repairs and preventive maintenance for equipment and infrastructure. Lead and manage a multi-skilled maintenance team consisting of power plant operators, mechanics, electrical technicians, and support staff; provide coaching, feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Prepare and submit required accident and incident reports and enforce safety compliance across all maintenance activities. Perform periodic inspections of all facility machinery, utilities, and systems. Monitor system performance, including boilers, water systems, gas lines, sprinkler systems, cooling equipment, electrical panels, and fire suppression devices. Complete all required documentation such as reports, inspections, evaluations, and supply inventories to maintain operational control. Maintain operational oversight of all mechanical systems, ensuring they are functioning within environmental and regulatory standards. Ensure the overall appearance and physical integrity of the facility, including cleanliness, landscaping, and equipment condition. Monitor resource use, ensure team qualifications are up to date, and inspect repair work for quality and compliance. Enforce lockout/tagout and equipment safety procedures. Review and approve facility improvements and capital upgrade recommendations. Enforce safety standards and instruct team members on proper safety practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and facility-specific protocols. Respond promptly to equipment failures, system breakdowns, and plant emergencies, coordinating corrective action. Assist in identifying, evaluating, and classifying job-related tasks to ensure proper implementation of Universal Precautions and infection control policies. Coordinate required environmental testing, regulatory permitting, and compliance tracking activities. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises all plant support and operational personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, and performance management.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Two (2) Years Supervisory Experience Required
Two (2) years Industrial Maintenance experience
QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel, for operational reporting and data analysis. Customer service-oriented with strong vendor relationship management skills. General understanding of industrial safety standards and environmental regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and lockout/tagout procedures for electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from manufacturer manuals, technical documents, system drawings, specifications, SOPs, emergency response procedures, and material safety data sheets (MSDS). Skilled in interpreting data and equipment readings to determine necessary corrective actions, identifying and resolving equipment or process issues effectively. Thorough understanding of startup, shutdown, and routine maintenance procedures for plant equipment. Responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and NEC standards, including accurate execution of tag-out procedures. Ability to effectively plan, schedule, and oversee work performed by mechanical and electrical plant staff. Capable of assigning, directing, and evaluating the performance of subordinates while providing guidance to foster productivity and morale. Solid knowledge of the operation and maintenance of power production, electrical, and mechanical systems. Proven leadership ability with experience managing plant personnel and fostering a team-oriented work environment. Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Self-motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for directing teams, reporting to management, and disseminating critical information clearly and effectively.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write business letters, service proposals, contracts, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
