The Site Head of Engineering & Facilities is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing Engineering, Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Site Security, and DEA compliance at our manufacturing sites in East Brunswick, NJ. This position ensures compliance with regulations, manages capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, and leads teams to achieve operational goals.
The responsibilities of this role include facility design and maintenance, equipment management, project execution, and driving innovation and continuous improvement. The Site Head of Engineering & Facilities will participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and project management reviews to ensure that the engineering teams are effectively aligned with the business’ needs.
Additionally, this role involves preparing and presenting technical information to executive leadership, leading special projects, and performing other assigned duties. This position is vital for driving innovation and operational improvements that support the long-term strategic objectives of Avet Pharma.
Reporting Relationships
Engineering, EH&S, Security and DEA report to this role.
Essential Functions
Develop and implement engineering strategies and plans to support the company's objectives, including facility upgrades, new equipment installations, and process improvements Lead the planning, execution, and management of CAPEX projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and meet quality standards aligned with business objectives. Develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure the reliability, compliance, and optimal performance of all critical utilities, equipment, and facility systems. Ensure the program aligns with GMP standards and regulatory requirements. Regularly review and audit PM schedules and procedures to drive efficiency, continuous improvement and audit readiness. Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence with OSHA, EPA, DEA, and cGMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant guidelines Provide strategic and operational leadership for site Engineering, Facilities, EH&S, Security, and DEA compliance fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and R&D to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and maintaining safety programs and procedures Encourage and support innovation in engineering practices and technologies Manage the engineering budget, including capital projects and operating expenses Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of all facilities, utilities, and equipment, ensuring compliance with current cGMP, FDA regulations, and safety standards while maintaining a state of inspection readiness Additional duties as assigned
Skills
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Chemical, Electric) or a related field Minimum 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or related field experience Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing complex engineering projects from start to finish Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements Proficient computer skills: MS Word and Excel are a must. AutoCAD is a plus

Compensation and Benefits
This is an exempt salaried position, the pay range is $218,000 to $250,000 per year.
In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus which aligns to both individual and company performance.
