Tyler, TX based General Contractor (15+ years in business) specializing in senior housing, commercial development, and general commercial construction. This position has location flexibility.
Job Summary:
The Vice President (VP) of Construction will be responsible for the overall project management of onsite and offsite activities, including maximizing quality and profitability, staffing, leading the construction team, coordinating internal and external resources, and cultivating client relationships. The VP of Construction will oversee and coordinate construction projects from pre-bid to closeout, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. This role serves as a strategic leader within the organization, working as part of the leadership team to align construction practices with company goals and growth initiatives. The position may be hybrid, with a combination of in-office and remote work depending on team needs and candidate qualifications. General Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam, Primavera, and Procore. Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Strong time-management and organizational skills to meet critical deadlines. Excellent decision-making skills with a solid understanding of business and financial impacts. Experience managing at least one SCI project as a project manager. Experience with various delivery types (CMAR, Design Build, Stipulated Sum, Negotiated). Ability to assess schedules, create recovery plans, and communicate implementation strategies. Duties: Provide oversight, strategic direction, and project management support for all active and upcoming projects. Manage and lead multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Continuously improve company processes related to project planning, execution, and completion.
