As a Senior/Staff Engineer on the Provider Engineering team, you will solve impactful problems that directly affect patients and providers by building large-scale distributed systems. We value talent and problem-solving ability over familiarity with our current tech stack. You will be hands-on, involved in architecture and system design, and help grow other team members. You will start meaningful work from day one in a role that can elevate your career. What You Will Bring to the Table: 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of building and evolving complex systems, including services, APIs, applications, and data pipelines. Experience owning and scaling production systems, including refactoring architecture based on real-world usage. Deep expertise in your tech stack, with the ability to learn new tools and frameworks as needed. A product mindset focused on delivering value through usable, testable features. Curiosity and ownership, with enjoyment in resolving ambiguity and working on impactful health-tech systems. Commitment to our mission and ethics, caring about systems that serve patients, healthcare providers, and stakeholders requiring timely, accurate data. The Impact You Will Make: Lead design and development of mission-critical systems powering SmartRequest, including billing, document pipelines, metadata indexing, patient search, and AI summarization. Mentor and collaborate with engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, ownership, and velocity. Drive architecture of a new SaaS product transforming a $205M services business into a scalable platform for attorneys, insurers, and government clients. Balance pragmatism with ambition, delivering impactful features while laying a modular foundation for future growth. Contribute across the stack, from backend APIs and health data integrations (FHIR, CCDA, EHRs) to frontends and structured record viewers. Explore and implement new technologies like LLMs, FHIR search, automated PDF parsing, and real-time pricing engines.
