Overview
The Director of Revenue Cycle Arrivals is responsible for the operational management and performance improvement of patient access operations across a multi-hospital health system, including affiliated outpatient clinics, imaging centers, and emergency departments.
This position ensures that access functions such as scheduling, registration, insurance verification, pre-authorization, financial counseling, and point-of-service collections are executed with high accuracy, customer service, and compliance.
The Director will drive enterprise-wide standardization and integration of workflows, leveraging best practices and technology to enhance patient experience, team member engagement, and policy adherence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
System Standardization:
Develops and implements consistent workflows, policies, and performance standards across all hospitals and care sites to ensure equitable and efficient patient access to care.
Patient Experience Improvement:
Implements patient-first service models, reducing wait times and improving transparency and communication at every point of access.
Revenue Cycle Optimization:
Ensures accurate and timely front-end processes that support downstream revenue integrity, including verification, authorization, and point-of-service collections.
Education and Training:
Identifies training and education needs to improve operational performance and reduce front-end denials.
Additional Details
Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required.
Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a management position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in hospital patient access operations; experience with Epic in access and reporting; proficiency in workflow design
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a management position
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements
Epic certification in Access or Billing applications; NAHAM certification
