Job Description:
The Long-Term Substitute Assistant Principal supports the school principal in maintaining a positive school climate and overseeing the instructional program during an extended absence.

Now - Until 12/18/2025 Qualifications: Certificates & Licenses : Valid Virginia Department of Education license required with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct teacher observations and provide instructional feedback Manage student discipline and behavior intervention systems Oversee daily school operations and staff supervision Maintain open communication with parents, students, and community stakeholders Implement emergency procedures and safety protocols Support special populations including EL, SPED, and Advanced Placement programs
School Operations and Learning Environment: Acts as the first leadership team contact for student intervention and parent engagement Ensures appropriate student supervision (arrivals/departures, attendance, parking lots, lunch periods, changing classes, etc.) Helps implement the school's emergency preparedness/crisis response plan(s) Maintains high standards for appropriate conduct with and for staff and students Determines next steps for issues that rise above the teacher/grade level/department chair role Promotes a safe, efficient, and effective work and learning environment
Parents and Community Engagement: Maintains open and effective communications with students, parents, and all school stakeholders in a timely manner Serves as a liaison and school representative
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance. Tuberculosis Skin Test.
Public Health Compliance Must follow safety and health protocols.
