JOB SUMMARY
Join our team as a Class B CDL Driver, where you will play a vital role in delivering and picking up containers from customer locations. We are committed to providing effective and incident-free service while building excellent relationships with customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely drive and operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites, adhering to all safety protocols.
Conduct thorough daily pre and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift.
Accommodate add-on deliveries as needed to fulfill business requirements.
Utilize a company-issued handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation tasks.
Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane when necessary.
Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for customer delivery.
Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers to ensure smooth transactions.
Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager to address customer questions or issues and prepare driver notes as needed.
Perform on-site repairs of containers and lifting mechanisms as needed.
Provide backup support for storage center functions when required.
Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab, keeping it free from debris inside and out.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to management, with direct supervisors typically holding titles such as Market Manager or Territory Manager.
This role does not involve direct management of other employees.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay is $27.50 per hour, and benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, safety bonuses, boot vouchers, and uniforms provided.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid CDL Class B License without air brake restriction required.
Current and valid driver license must be maintained.
Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
Minimum age of 21 years is required due to insurance requirements.
Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or the ability to obtain a minimum of a 1-year certification (DOT requirement).
Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software is preferred.
Basic math skills necessary to perform job duties.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted.
Must be able to complete a required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
