The Digital Innovation Department at Marubeni America Corporation supports the total digital transformation of Marubeni group companies in the Americas via innovative technology, design, marketing, and analytics capabilities. Our interdisciplinary team of technical experts enables customized technical solutions and accelerates delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations. The role of Senior Supply Chain Data Scientist will work with a team of data scientists and engineers on an initiative to improve the inventory management strategy of Marubeni subsidiaries. This role involves core consulting skills such as understanding the current business and future goals, developing a strategic roadmap for inventory management that leverage existing and external data, and developing oral and written visuals to communicate the implementation approach. Responsibilities Work closely with team members and cross-functional partners to define business challenges, develop analytical frameworks, gather key data, evaluate solutions, and deliver well-supported recommendations to leadership. Develop and implement cutting-edge solutions in inventory management, forecasting, complexity reduction, and product distribution to improve KPIs. Transform data into impact: Leverage data visualization techniques to craft compelling narratives that communicate insights, drive action, and demonstrate business value. Design, deploy, and support predictive, prescriptive, and generative analytics models that drive measurable impact. Apply change management strategies to facilitate smooth adoption of new analytics-driven solutions across the organization. Stay informed of the latest advancements and industry trends. Knowledge And Skills Expertise in inventory optimization algorithms and feature selection Applied experience with machine learning and optimization using large datasets Proficient with Python, SQL, GitHub Passion for data science & delivering data-driven outcomes Experience implementing and handing off operational analytical solutions to business users Demonstrated ability to deal well with ambiguity and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to communicate concisely with diplomacy, credibility, and confidence Experience in supply chain analysis and demand forecasting Experience leading, collaborating with, and delivering results in cross-functional teams Familiarity with statistics, forecasting, and simulation Seniority level
