Currently, we are looking for a Manager, Digital Marketing in our Detroit, MI or Chicago, IL offices. In addition to our Detroit and Chicago offices, we have offices in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Bloomfield Hills, Kalamazoo, and Washington D.C. JOB SUMMARY The Manager, Digital Marketing will support and elevate our marketing efforts with a focus on digital strategy and brand presence. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role will develop, implement, and manage integrated marketing initiatives that enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and strengthen client engagement. This role requires creativity, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience in websites, SEO, social media, email, content marketing, and analytics. As a key member of the Marketing & Communications Team within the Business Development Department, the Marketing Manager will work closely with attorneys, practice groups, the executive team, and business professionals on targeted external communications efforts. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies, including SEO, social media, website management, email marketing, and paid media. Plan, execute, and optimize digital advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn). Monitor and report on performance using tools like Google Analytics; provide actionable insights and recommendations for growth. Partner with the marketing communications team to create and optimize website content and user experience. Identify trends and new tools to improve digital performance and ensure the firm stays at the forefront of digital marketing innovation. Content Development & Brand Management Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to develop and refine digital content that resonates with target audiences. Create and manage content templates, biographies, and firm descriptions to ensure consistent voice, tone, and style. Oversee content development for blogs, alerts, social media, and other platforms to expand the firm’s digital footprint. Ensure all marketing collateral aligns with brand guidelines and editorial standards across print and digital channels. Campaigns & Special Projects Support strategic marketing initiatives tied to practice group plans and the firm’s overall strategic goals. Serve as project manager for high-impact marketing initiatives, including website redesigns, brand rollouts, and business development campaigns. Promote firm-sponsored events, webinars, and speaking engagements by drafting or editing content for invitations, bios, proposals, and ads. Manage freelance or outsourced marketing support as needed to execute initiatives efficiently and effectively. Provide creative thinking and strategic counsel to support cross-functional collaboration across the Business Development team and other departments. Marketing Technology Oversee tools such as the firm website, HighQ, intranet, scorecard, proposal database (e.g., DealCloud), CRM, and email marketing systems. Help ensure all MarTech platforms integrate with firmwide systems. Serve as the liaison and point of contact for external MarTech vendors. In partnership with the MarComms team, develop a maintenance plan and process to ensure all content in the MarTech systems are frequently maintained and updated by the BD/Marcomms teams. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related discipline required. 5–7 years of relevant experience in marketing; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred. Proven expertise in SEO, website management, social media, email marketing, and digital campaign execution. Proficiency in tools such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, social media scheduling tools, and email marketing platforms. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with ability to learn new technologies. Proficiency in marketing technology platforms (e.g., InTapp (DealCloud/experience management, CRM, pipeline management, etc.)) a plus. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive insights that inform marketing strategy. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills required. Highly organized with superior project management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines and stakeholders. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Strong judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information. Proven creative and analytical thinker with hands-on experience in digital marketing and a strategic mindset. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to professionally communicate with a wide variety of individuals and respond to inquiries in a timely, professional manner. Pay Range and Compensation Package Honigman provides a generous total compensation package, which includes comprehensive health and well-being benefits, as well as 401k and profit sharing. The anticipated annual pay range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000 (exempt). The actual offered pay rate will be determined based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
