General Manager at The Hyatt Place Ann Arbor
to lead the overall operation of the hotel, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, Administrative, and Engineering divisions. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of hotel operations with a
strong background in Food & Beverage
and
exceptional financial acumen . You must be
proficient in Excel , comfortable with
forecasting and budgeting , and
skilled in delivering presentations and building detailed reports and spreadsheets. At the heart of the role is a passion for service and results—balancing operational excellence with a guest-first mentality and a drive to exceed financial goals. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive revenue and profitability, and set the tone for a culture of excellence. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and inspire a best-in-class hotel team with a focus on culture, performance, and retention. Partner with F&B leadership to drive exceptional guest experiences and profitable operations. Own and present financial performance, forecasts, and key metrics through detailed spreadsheets and reports. Collaborate with sales and revenue management to maximize RevPAR and total hotel revenue. Monitor expenses and purchasing with a sharp eye on budget goals. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service throughout the property. Lead by example, promoting a culture of inclusion, hospitality, and integrity. Champion guest satisfaction by responding promptly and thoughtfully to feedback. Maintain a visible leadership presence with guests, associates, and community stakeholders. Success Factors Experience & Education Minimum
5+ years of hotel management experience
(full-service or lifestyle property experience preferred). Proven track record managing
Food & Beverage operations. Strong proficiency in
Excel ,
forecasting , and
financial reporting . Experience with sales, revenue management, and budget ownership. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Diplomatic problem-solver with a guest-first approach. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills required. Ability to lead, coach, and inspire a diverse team. Able to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.
