Job Description

Job Title: Director of Development & Communications

Department: Administrative

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer or Chief Executive Officer

FLSA Status: Full Time Exempt

Salary: $90,000 - $105,000

TCA Benefits: 401K Retirement Savings Plan and up to a 4% match; Medical Insurance- employer pays 85% of single HMO rate. Dental and Vision Insurance- employer pays 100% of single HMO rate. Employer-Paid Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance. Employer- Paid Long Term Disability. Nine (9) paid holidays per year. Twenty-one (21) days of paid time off.

Position Summary

The Director of Development and Communication directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the policies, metrics, and goals for TCAs fundraising, communications, and business development effort. This role is responsible determining how to drive business growth, revenue, and to achieve the TCAs strategic fundraising goals. Creates a communications program that effectively describes and promotes TCA and its services. Leads TCA Healths Development efforts, strategies and action plans to impact health outcomes, increase patient encounters, generate revenue, and build TCAs brand identity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to the following).

Fundraising 35%

Responsible for substantially increasing and sustaining philanthropic engagement and contributions for TCA Health Inc. Foster a culture of philanthropy and ensure that fund development is executed in keeping with the organization's values, vision, and mission. Meet six figure annual fundraising goals to support TCAs programing and service needs. Plan and implement a comprehensive and coordinated development strategy focused on the establishment of a diversified funding base that includes support from government agencies, foundations, corporations, major donors, individual donors, and faith-based institutions. Collaborates with Executive, department leadership, and other key partners across TCA to build a compelling case for support. Presents each departments funding opportunities articulately, persuasively, and with confidence. Prepares and presents proposals to prospects and donors, working with leadership on communications and donor relations when appropriate. Work with senior management team, governing board, and staff to define the organization's short and long-term goals, and strategies for fundraising. Establish a balanced mix of donor / funding sources and fundraising programs to attract and retain donors and fundraising volunteers. Help to recruit, train, and motivate fundraising volunteers. Direct oversight of all fundraising and special events. Facilitates and coordinates all communications with prospects and among prospects' organizational relationships. Maintain accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws, as well as the code of ethics for fundraising professionals.

Grant Maintenance & Program Development 25%

Actively manages a portfolio of grants, employing appropriate strategies and tactics in prospect and portfolio management. This includes federal, state, local, individuals, corporations, and foundations. Support the funding for critical programs and new initiatives by researching and seeking out new potential sources of grant funding consistent with organizational objectives. Supports the mission of TCA Health by working with consultant grant writers in researching, developing, and submitting grant proposals related to TCAs clinical and social service programs. Support new grant opportunity proposals, in collaboration with department leaders and other stakeholders, develop project workplans, budgets, and projected outcomes for services and programs; develop clear, concise, and compelling grant narratives that are responsive to funder inquiries and requirements. Work closely with other management staff in developing and transforming program ideas into grant proposals. Lead, prepare, review, and submit grant applications and reports to funders with the support of consultant grant writers, and development associate. Act as organizational resource for grant compliance requirements.

Marketing and Communications 25%

Develop and coordinate patient- and community-focused social media and fundraising campaigns on behalf of the organization and specific clinics/ programs or projects. Support and continue to develop social media and other appropriate marketing strategies with TCAs Web Content consultants. Responsible for message development and/or execution; ongoing proactive management of outside resources in special circumstances Oversee creation of publications to support organizational awareness and fundraising activities Monitor social media platforms and develop new ideas to enhance consumer engagement by acknowledging and solving their problems and queries Work closely with key departments to develop messaging aligned with organizational branding Lead annual report, quarterly newsletter, and press release communications with approvals from the Office of the CEO

Administrative & Supervisory 15%

Provide oversight of the development associate to ensure timely grant renewals and reporting for existing grant compliance and growth Supports all grants management, tracking, reporting, and renewal activities of the organization in collaboration with finance and program leadership Provides project management oversight and evaluation related consultants or staff including but not limited to business development, grant writing, fundraising, marketing/communications, strategic planning, social media/ website, communications, community engagement vendors, consultants, and stakeholders Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Identify resources needed for project, including but not limited to agencies and community organizations relevant to grant projects. Solicit their support, input, and community partner participation as needed. Provides staff training in the grant acquisition and implementation process. And assist staff in the technical preparation of grant proposals, including coordinating organizational meetings for grant projects, facilitating meetings with internal and external partners, and maintaining all aspects of an internal customer grant support system. Actively participate in TCAs Quality / Risk Committees and performance improvement sub-committees and activities Identifies & attends key local and regional meetings that further TCA Health initiatives. Create, update development/communication department policies and workflows for organizational efficiency Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelors degree in communications, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field required. Masters preferred. A minimum of 5 years of proven and successful experience in development or a related field preferably in a health care setting required. Including a minimum of 3-years at a senior staff or management level with demonstrated success in leadership A successful record of accomplishment in identifying and securing new donors. Proven experience with face to face meetings for major solicitations. Understands performance management and relationship development. Superior written and oral communication skills; attention to detail, with a commitment to improving the quality, and content of proposals and reports. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of donors. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. With solid project and staff management skills Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and fundraising software. Highly analytical/data driven. Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting, and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends Experience creating and presenting polished marketing materials with a high degree of professionalism

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast paced work environment. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. This position will also be subject to varying degrees of environmental noise, some of it significant, as part of the outreach duties. This position requires the ability to drive for local travel
