Job Summary:

Aalis Management Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Database Administrator to design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance database systems supporting critical personnel and readiness operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in enterprise database management, optimization, and security compliance within DoD environments, ensuring data integrity and availability for mission-critical applications. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) supporting DoD personnel and readiness applications Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning for large-scale datasets Ensure data security by implementing DISA STIGs, RMF controls, and encryption standards Develop and maintain database backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high-availability solutions Migrate legacy databases to modern platforms (cloud or on-premises) while ensuring data integrity Collaborate with developers to design efficient data models and schemas for new applications Monitor database health and resolve complex performance issues with Tier 3/4 support Create and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and SOPs Support ATO processes by providing necessary database security artifacts Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, or Master's degree or graduate certification preferred. 8+ years of database administration experience, with 5+ years in DoD/federal environments. Expert-level knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. Proven experience with database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning. Technical Certifications (Required): DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ CE or equivalent) Vendor Certification (Oracle OCP, Microsoft MCSE: Data Management, or PostgreSQL Certified Engineer) Additional Preferred Certifications: AWS/Azure Database Specialty ITIL v4 Foundation Aalis Management Consulting is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
