Engineer I/II - Systems

General Dynamics Electric Boat . Engineers are needed to support integration of submarine electrical systems and cables for VIRGINIA Class submarines. Responsibilities include interfacing with Electrical, Combat Weapon, and Waterfront system engineers for power distribution, instrumentation, monitoring, control systems, and communications. SSW Cableway Engineers oversee the development and integration of internal and external cableways, review and implement ship and system requirements, develop 3D arrangements, cableway roadmaps, and ensure successful integration. They also develop cableway disclosures and review/signoff processes. Engineers collaborate with other disciplines (Fluid systems, Structural, Ventilation, Arrangements), shipyard trade organizations, buyers, planners, SOSG, NAVSEA codes, to develop cableways. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VISIO is required. Additional duties include reviewing system requirements, technical studies, diagrams, supporting 3D model development, review, approval, and product issuance for Cableways during Concept, Arrangement, and Detail Design phases. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering and 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience. Preferred experience includes Siemens Teamcenter, NX, and Microsoft VISIO. Physical requirements include climbing, medium lifting, and reaching.
