The Wankowicz lab (wankowiczlab.com) aims to elucidate the role of entropy in substrate specificity and catalysis, providing a comprehensive thermodynamic understanding of enzyme function. The lab develops innovative computational algorithms to create conformational ensemble models. This position focuses on computational bioinformatics to understand the role of entropy in protein function. Duties and Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and present large structural bioinformatics pipelines Develop and benchmark algorithms for conformational ensemble modeling Collaborate with domain scientists to integrate outputs with experimental pipelines and refine hypotheses in an iterative design–test–learn loop Qualifications

MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computational Chemistry, or related field Experience with machine learning Strong background in structural biology and/or statistical mechanics Proven ability to build and debug large-scale ML systems in Python Experience with building large bioinformatics pipelines Strong skills in balancing multiple projects Seniority level
