Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
to support the development of next-generation systems, including tactical microgrids, hybrid power solutions, advanced energy platforms, and lightweight communication technologies. Responsibilities: Mechanical Design Leadership : Lead design and development of mechanical systems that meet stringent defense application requirements. CAD & Drawing Mastery : Utilize Autodesk Inventor to develop detailed 3D models and ASME-compliant engineering drawings. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and integration teams to refine and optimize design solutions. Simulation & Analysis : Conduct structural (FEA), thermal, and reliability analysis to validate performance in harsh operating conditions. Prototyping & Testing : Manage rapid prototyping cycles and hands-on testing to ensure product readiness for real-world environments. Documentation : Produce clear, complete documentation, including specs, reports, and end-user manuals. Mentorship & Technical Oversight : Guide junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. DFM & Production Support : Interface with manufacturing partners to improve design manufacturability, cost efficiency, and scalability. Full Lifecycle Engagement : Support projects from initial concept through field deployment and sustainment. Technology Scouting : Stay up to date with emerging materials, processes, and industry trends to inform forward-looking design decisions. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Strong experience in mechanical design and product development. Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and advanced CAD tools. Expertise in FEA, thermal management, and mechanical analysis. Strong analytical and communication skills. Familiarity with mechanical design standards and regulatory compliance.
