Glass container manufacturer in New York’s southern tier needs an Operations Manager for its 250-person plant. Working in a 24/7 unionized manufacturing environment, you will develop goals and processes for operations improvement. This position is located near Corning and Binghamton, New York.
Responsibilities:
Your goal in running the organization will be to produce high-quality products, manage increased volumes, and optimize facility, equipment, and manpower performance.
You will manage the performance of manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, IT, human resources, and finance, ensuring that business and cost targets are met. Provide leadership for employee development, process ownership, and accountability.
Align objectives within each function to achieve the business's strategic goals, including safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and people development.
Understand and ensure all regulatory compliance standards are met.
Ensure that technical objectives are met and that any roadblocks or issues are quickly resolved.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing equivalent.
Requires manufacturing experience of 7+ years with at least 5 years in operations leadership.
Experience in change management, process improvement, and optimization.
Able to lead in a way that builds trust with people across all departments, from shop floor to executive offices.
Must be accessible 24/7 and during holidays to support the facility as needed.
