The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $175,000 - $219,000
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director- Corporate Control Accounting (Gross Margin) will report to the VP, Accounting and Process and assume a critical role in the overall financial management of the company. This role plans, directs, and supports gross margin accounting and related processes performed by Avangrid and its affiliates.
Reviews and optimizes processes necessary to comply with all accounting requirements and deliverables in SEC, IFRS, and FERC standards.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Scope of work - range of responsibilities): Directs and supervises the preparation of accounting, financial, and other information to support compliance with state and federal regulatory financial filings and petitions.
Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet, and profit and loss accounts.
Analyze impacts of complex operations in IFRS, US GAAP, and FERC financial statements.
Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
Ensure proper functioning of all interfaces relevant to gross margin accounting.
Produce external and internal audit deliverables in accordance with audit plans.
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors.
Mentor and develop the team, managing work allocation, system training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.
Approximate Budget Responsibility: 13 headcounts (Networks, Renewables and Corporate).
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience Required: B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline and at least 10 years’ total accounting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Leading day-to-day accounting functions related to the monthly and year-end close.
Previous experience managing accounting functions and groups.
Skills/Abilities: Accounting/financial experience in US GAAP, IFRS, SEC, and FERC standards and in regulation, compliance, and monitoring.
Strong proficiency with SAP or similar ERP.
Excellent communication capabilities, as well as the ability to communicate with all levels of management for daily responsibilities and escalated issues.
Directing and delegating abilities to manage both internal and external teams.
Ability to prioritize and shift priorities for self and for team.
Proactive capabilities.
Driven to take the initiative.
Ability to drive down to root-cause when issues arise.
Skills/Abilities/Experiences/Education: Master’s degree or CPA .
Power and utilities experience .
US GAAP and IFRS experience .
