As our next Utility Distribution Auditor, you’re on your way to the open road and traveling the trails! We keep the lights on anywhere there’s a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As a Utility Distribution Auditor, you’ll keep communities informed about the trees and power lines, while ensuring safe delivery of their power and pursuing opportunities to develop sustainable habitat throughout the utility right-of-way. Essential Job Functions

Obtacircuit closure documentation from tree contractor. Inspect all work performed by the vegetation contractors to ensure completed work meets utility's standards within 30 days of work completion. Including section of a circuit delayed by Line Clearance Contractor due to permit or access restrictions. Review circuit closure documentation to ensure accuracy. Document and report deficiencies. Reinspect deficiencies through completion. Notify utility of damaged electrical equipment/facilities. Provide weekly written and electronic reports of inspection results. Utilize data collection systems to support and report findings. Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: Validate trims/removals; Validate priority tree data; Assess herbicide effectiveness; incorporate priority trees and circuit concerns into work planning software.

Requirements

Experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews and/or has successfully completed applicable performance reviews preferred. Possesses excellent leadership skills and be able to handle stressful situations along with being able to multi-task. Has a basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboricultural techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing, as applies to working in close proximity to energized conductors. Knows and understands the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000). Has a basic knowledge of electrical circuit and must be skilled in the reading and understanding of circuit maps. Ability to communicate professionally, both verbal and in writing, with the general public, customers, and fellow employees. Completes and passes an approved customer relations course and have an understanding of all approved work methods that apply to position. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Excellent customer service skills a priority. Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather. Proficient in map navigation skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus).
