$145,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr Canandaigua National Bank
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will be responsible for all planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting. Close collaboration with Accounting and Treasury will exist to perform a variety of duties to support the overall CFO divisions’ functions. The Director of FP&A will play a pivotal role in driving the bank’s financial strategy, providing actionable insights to senior leadership, and ensuring alignment with the bank’s mission to deliver exceptional financial services to its communities. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of FP&A will oversee the finance team and collaborate closely with departments across the bank to support data-driven decision-making. This position is a critical role to ensure best in class overall financial support is provided to the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, executive leadership, and department heads. Communicate complex financial concepts and strategies clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences. Financial Planning and Budgeting Lead and facilitate the organization, execution, and reporting on financial planning related activities organization-wide (including maintaining forward-looking, long term financial projections under multiple scenarios). Direct annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes (gather information from various business units, make relevant modeling assumptions that reflect deep understanding of the business, and create clear output for the Board and other constituents). Interface with all business lines to gather relevant information, report out periodically, and understand as much of the business as possible to make recommendations and participate in decision making that optimizes financial performance (finance lines of business liaisons/partners). Financial Analysis and Reporting Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization: Evaluation of potential impacts resulting from new programs/strategies/initiatives, regulatory actions, Prepares, reviews, and presents monthly financial reporting documents to the Executive Team and Board of Directors. Provide insight and present recommendations through analysis and observation of any risks or opportunities to the business over the course of the year. Corporate and Strategic Finance In partnership with Human Resources, evaluates and supports analyses and decisions related to compensation and benefit programs (incentive plans, bonuses, ESOP, etc.). Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to evaluate strategic opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and market expansion.
Qualifications
A B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study, CPA, MBA, or advanced degree desired or equivalent work experience required. Specialized bank finance education and training, with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in related positions or banking, in general, preferred.
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; experience in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting financial information; ability to synthesize information and communicate effectively to the CFO and Executive Team; familiarity with current bank regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); Very strong interpersonal relations and communicative skills; Solid presentation skills (both oral and written); Ability to communicate comfortably at appropriate level of summary and detail across multiple organizational levels; Strong prioritization, delegation, and employee development skills; strong computer skills (including advanced Excel skills); Highly developed analytical and forecasting skills in an accounting and financial environment;

The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
