Data Device Corporation . Power Device Corporation (PDC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering & Staff Director to join our Engineering team located in Poway, CA. This position will oversee and direct the Engineering Team in Poway as well as Mechanical Engineers and Draftspersons in all PDC locations (Poway CA, Bohemia NY, and Isle of Wight UK). The Mechanical Engineering Director is responsible for managing, preparing, and coordinating all technical activities related to Mechanical and Process engineering aspects of projects. This includes planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating engineering work, ensuring compliance with standards, and facilitating communication among disciplines and project participants. This is a hands-on role requiring significant technical expertise in Mechanical and SMT Process engineering. The candidate should be able to recognize technical issues early and initiate corrective actions. The role also involves managing staff, allocating resources, mentoring, and training engineers, and participating in hiring processes. Responsibilities
Drive methodology within the Mechanical Engineering group. Prepare for PDRs and CDRs, acting as the main technical representative for the mechanical engineering group. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Manage mechanical, Process, and Documentation staff, allocate resources, and oversee engineering activities. Mentor and train staff. Review and oversee drawings and specifications. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience. 10+ years of experience in Mechanical design and technical leadership. Knowledge of commercial, avionics, and military design practices. Experience with thermal and modal analysis using SolidWorks. Proficiency in 3D modeling with SolidWorks.
