Job Description
At Relativity Space, we're building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. This will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress beyond the known.
Joining Relativity means becoming part of a team where autonomy, ownership, and impact are valued at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving unprecedented problems, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or corporate functions, you'll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work realized quickly. Relativity fosters a culture where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice helps shape our story. This is a unique moment to leave your mark on our product, process, and culture, with Terran R gaining momentum. The most meaningful work of your career awaits. Join us.
About the Team:
The Avionics team manages the full lifecycle of Terran R's nervous system, designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major electrical system on the vehicle and ground. The team combines avionics design, manufacturing, and testing to enable rapid iteration and feedback. Engineers work closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. Now is a great time to join: you'll help shape Terran R's fundamental avionics architecture and own critical components that will fly.
About the Role:
As a Senior Avionics PCB Engineer, you will support in-house printed circuit board design and development, assisting Avionics engineers with PCB layout, component review, Altium eCAD management, and PCBA lifecycle development. A strong candidate will lead PCBA layout, enhance designs for manufacturability and quality, and optimize component mechanical design.
About You:
7+ years of hands-on PCB Design experience in Altium or similar eCAD software
Experience with PCB design for high-speed digital or high voltage power electronics
Experience designing for manufacturability and understanding of PCBA lifecycle
Experience designing PCBAs for harsh environments such as extreme thermal conditions or vibration
Nice to have but not required:
Experience with PCB fabrication and assembly vendor management
Experience defining design rules, managing eCAD libraries, and review processes
Experience supporting anomaly investigations for PCBA failures in manufacturing or testing
Experience with PLM software like Teamcenter
Relativity Space is committed to transparency and fairness in compensation. Actual pay depends on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
