Summary:
The Director Performance Excellence will charter and execute organization-wide efforts to ensure that Performance Excellence (PE) programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for projects aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives. Assures those organization-wide PE initiatives are focused and aligned on advancing operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness; participates in organizational strategic planning and provides leadership for PE policy development; provides leadership and coordination for enhancing the organization?s core functions and evaluating the impact that systems improvements have on the organization; and researches and develops PE training programs that focus on enabling the labor force to obtain necessary achievements.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates outstanding collaboration and cultivates positive relationships with all customers, associates, executives, physicians, patients, vendors, and visitors
Proactively identifies performance process opportunities and management process gaps, then implements solutions with alignment from key stakeholders
Defines, develops, and evaluates performance metrics to establish process success, including working with multiple stakeholders, often with competing/conflicting objectives, to ensure cohesive measures of success
Identifies, plans, leads, and implements key projects to ensure operational best practices are applied and shared across the system to assist in moving the organization forward in strategic performance objectives
Organizes and structures cross-functional teams to drive complex programs across both shared functions and market operations including large data sets, root cause analysis, and gap analysis
Serves as a change agent, assisting leaders and associates to assimilate change in performance processes and practices
Reviews data post-implementation to measure success; defines standards of performance success.
Synthesizes and presents learnings, insights, and recommendations for key stakeholders and executive leadership
Hires, trains, develops, supervises, and coaches Performance Excellence team members to include managers, business operations engineers, and industrial engineers
Directs and develops fully evolved project management skills with an emphasis on communication and building relationships across multiple large-scale projects
Participates in special projects and performs other job duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education/Skills
Master?s Degree
Proficient with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Ability to work full-time in a hospital, clinic, or office environment
Ability to work with all levels of associates across the organization
Outstanding stakeholder management, critical/analytical thinking, and senior executive communication/presentation skills
Highly motivated, inspirational leader able to innovatively engage, support, and remove barriers for the team to ensure the team consistently meets established goals
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience
7+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required
5+ years of experience managing professionals
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Lean Master Black Belt, Six Sigma Master Black Belt, or Lean-Six Sigma Master Black Belt required
