Entry Specialist for the Harry Hines location.

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for the posting of computerized patient and third-party billing charge Posting. We are looking for a qualified candidate to verify Medicaid benefits and ensure accurate eligibility determination. Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for accurate and timely data entry of computerized patient and/or third-party billing transactions from Medisoft Clinical into Medisoft Professional. Responsible for accurate and timely data entry of computerized patient and/or third-party billing transactions from paper billing logs and/or progress notes. Seeks clarification of codes and procedure to ensure accuracy. Completes data entry of various billing edit reports and/or corrections within specified time frames. Completes data entry of various accounting corrections and/or adjustments within specified time frames. Communicates with department manager, team lead, or team members in efforts to resolve billing related problems. Communicates barriers immediately to the Back Office Coordinator. Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures including government, insurance, and third-party payer regulations. Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, financial, and medical information. Meets weekly and/or individual and team targets. Assists with Special Projects and other duties as assigned by Back Office Coordinator.

Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalency required Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of healthcare data entry experience. Keyboarding and typing experience (minimum of 30 wpm)

Skills & Abilities: Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs; minimum of 30 wpm Ability to learn and appropriately apply basic medical terminologies and techniques taught and used on the job. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask and complete back-office data entry tasks. Ability to communicate and interact professionally with team members. Must be able to have HIPPA secure environment and maintain confidentiality of patient records.

Physical Requirements: Ability to view computer monitors with close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust your focus with good hand-eye coordination. Ability to operate a computer and/or laptop through proficient typing, clicking, and viewing a monitor for extended periods. Employee must be able to sit up to 90% of the time. Employee must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs (up to 10% of the time). Must be able to frequently (up to 20% of the time) talk, listen and speak clearly in person and via telephone.
