The Senior Engineer of Data and Analytics Engineer will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success and growth of KeHE by engaging with internal business stakeholders of all levels. This role will become an enabler by providing support and guidance in defining and delivering their data engineering and analytics needs by turning data into actionable information leveraging on-prem and cloud technologies. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHEs Mission, Vision, and Values. Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrated ability to partner with internal product stakeholders to help define requirements and outcomes for data-focused initiatives. Ability to decompose large problems and execute smaller, manageable bodies of work to demonstrate continuous architecture delivery. Architects and manages scalable data pipelines across on-premises and cloud data repositories. Creates data flow diagrams, and document source to target mapping Utilizes their business acumen, analytical mindset, and strong communication/people skills to extract business requirements and translates them into actionable tasks. Maintains the data warehouse performance by optimizing batch processing through parallelization, performance tuning, aggregations etc. Creates user-facing dashboards that provide key insights for its specific audience. Recognizes and adopts best practices and cost-effective solutions in developing analytical insights on prem and in the cloud. Provides guidance and mentors junior team members. Keeps current with Business Intelligence data trends and technological innovations Executes on POCs with new technologies, drive innovation, and new ideas Other duties and projects as assigned. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Able to collaborate with a development team with established source control (git). Strong understanding of data modeling (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design, experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data warehouses and Data Marts). Strong knowledge with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices including multi-dimensional modelling (star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models, handling slow changing dimensions). Ability to work with stakeholders and changing priorities Ability to learn and apply new technologies to business problems. Strong communication skills both verbally and written. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to multitask tasks. Expert knowledge of Python and C#. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. 7+ years leveraging Microsoft and its associated array of offerings (SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PowerBI, etc.) 5+ years leveraging AWS and its associated array of offerings (Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, Spectrum, PySpark etc.) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
