SUMMARY
Desert Jet Center is looking for outstanding individuals with an interest in aviation to join our team as a Line Service Technician. As a Line Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient operations and exceptional service for general aviation aircraft crews and customers. You will be responsible for performing various duties related to the handling of aircraft. An LST routinely operates ground service equipment and uses knowledge of the company's policies to play a vital role in providing excellent service to customers and other guests of the fixed base operation (FBO).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, customers, clients, vendors, and aircraft crewmembers to ensure safe, efficient, and smooth operations and exceptional customer service while providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to aircraft handling, safety procedures, and customer service.
  • Offer, promote, sell, and deliver general aviation services to crewmembers, customers and other guests.
  • Recommend improvements to DJC standards, administrative procedures, facilities, methods, and practices to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional and personable approach, consistently displaying a positive, helpful attitude, and demonstrating utmost consideration and courtesy towards all individuals.
Tactical Responsibilities:
  • Perform aircraft services such as fueling, fuel quality control, lavatory, ground power and potable water services, delivering catering, and towing according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in monitoring fuel inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.
  • Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure, ensuring safe parking and movement on the ramp.
  • Greet and assist pilots, passengers, and crew members with a friendly and professional demeanor. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, providing directions, and addressing concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Load and unload luggage and cargo from aircraft, ensuring proper handling.
  • Operate and maintain various ground support equipment.
  • Operate a shuttle vehicle with passengers and/or luggage and cargo.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the ramp area, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of time worked, aircraft services, fuel transactions, and other activities performed as required.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate communications through various means to accomplish operational tasks.
  • Maintain clean working environment.
  • Adhere to all procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe, clean, and secure ramp, operations, and working environment.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively, following established emergency procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety of personnel, passengers, and aircraft.
  • Adhere to company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, climb, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Availability to work flexible hours such as early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Valid driver's license.
