ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Account Executive works closely with the client to gather direction, determine objectives and provide insight. They must understand their clients’ businesses fully and know the “why” for each campaign or project. With the help of the internal team, including the project manager, media, creative, PR, and operations teams, the AE ensures we deliver results for our clients within the agency’s high standard of quality and innovation. The AE also has the ultimate responsibility to work closely with the project manager on budgets, timelines, communication, expectations and success with their clients. Our home base is Indianapolis, Indiana. The preference for this role is to be a local candidate or a candidate willing to relocate. There is flexibility for qualified candidates who live within a reasonable driving distance of Indianapolis.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
Work directly with the client to deeply understand every ask/need, determine the most appropriate direction, provide insight, highlight concerns and be ready to push back, seek clarity, manage expectations and ensure accountability.
Participate in high-level strategic discussions both internally and with clients and drive consensus and alignment around the strategy.
Understand the “why” of all accounts: each client’s overall big picture of their business and differentiators.
Lead external and internal collaborative sessions, presentations and meetings, taking ownership of assigned responsibilities and delegating other assignments.

Act as the final decision-maker and hold ultimate responsibility for all account-related correspondence.
Coordinate and delegate the creation of client presentation decks, determining content, flow and speaking parts.
Lead completion and approval of all project briefs, including project objective, metrics, audience, target and message.

Possess an understanding of a variety of project timelines, considerations, team members needed, etc. This may include, but is not limited to, video, website, paid media, in-store/POS, email, newsletters, and other deliverables.

Understand basic tracking and optimization opportunities, whether it be via media campaigns or website performance, in order to shift efforts to meet metrics.
Manage client budgets to ensure correct expenditure, pacing and invoicing.
Correspond with internal and external partners as needed to understand objectives, target audiences, and budget breakdowns.
Handle scope creep communication with the client, including approval of any necessary budget adjustments.
Final review of all deliverables, ensuring the quality of work meets agency and client expectations, and it is delivered in a way that links to the established strategy, goals, and objectives.
Act as the liaison between The Basement’s overall business goals and the client’s overall business success.
Seek out, pursue and secure new growth opportunities within existing accounts and external business opportunities.

Maintain effective, constant, transparent communication, both written and oral, with all parties.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, advertising or related field
5+ years of account service or high-touch customer service experience
Advertising agency experience
1-2 years of experience in leading a team
Familiarity with media terms and campaigns
Willingness to travel as needed
