Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the PSR I performs clinical and forensic specimen collection duties with strict adherence to established procedures, confidentiality, and process accuracy.

Job Summary:

This role involves drawing high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for lab testing while creating an atmosphere of trust, safety, and professionalism. Under minimal supervision, the PSR I performs clinical and forensic specimen collection duties with strict adherence to established procedures, confidentiality, and process accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and protocols.
- Draw blood samples from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a skillful and safe manner.
- Explain procedures and establish rapport with patients to ensure comfort and confidence.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Deliver services independently, with minimal supervision, and adapt to changing staffing needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and team members.
- Perform duties in alignment with Leadership Behaviors and organizational values.
- Participate in weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime coverage as needed.
- Minimum 6 months of relevant work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- Keyboard and data entry proficiency
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
- Medical assistant or paramedic training
- Customer service experience in a retail or healthcare setting
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; REQUIRED in CA, NV, and WA)
- Accurate and confident phlebotomy
- Independent work ethic
- Attention to detail and compliance
- Customer service and interpersonal communication
- Adaptability to changing schedules
- Time management in fast-paced environments
- Specimen preparation
- Clinical documentation
- Familiarity with lab testing protocols
