Amazon is a leading technology company seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their JustWalkOut (JWO) team in the Applied AI organization. The role involves developing infrastructure for training and evaluating AI models that power the checkout-free shopping experience, while collaborating with other engineers and researchers to solve complex technical challenges. Responsibilities: • Help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. • Play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. • Closely work with researchers on scaling the development of computer vision and deep learning problems. • Help invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services. • Work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, C++, Python. Qualifications: Required: • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience • Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred: • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Company: Amazon is a tech firm with a focus on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.
