Job Opportunity

This position is located in Newport News, VA (On-Site/Office). The role involves receiving incoming material, organizing material in Conex boxes, processing issue and shipping documents, maintaining and tracking material and part requirements to ensure continued support of deployed systems and/or products. Additional responsibilities include maintaining material databases, coordinating with production for restocking of unused material, providing information for tracking and storage of government furnished equipment, and performing routine and/or low dollar value buying/purchasing tasks. The role also requires working within a shipyard environment, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, and maintaining inventory tracking via database and Excel spreadsheet.

Requirements include organizational skills, knowledge of inventory control, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, climb inclines, ladders and stairs, and push/pull pallet jacks and/or rolling carts. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, performing cycle counts, data entry, and ship installation or interpreting ship electrical drawings to pull needed materials is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word) is necessary.

Desired skills include experience in Microsoft Excel to develop, modify, and use spreadsheets to manage and track the storage and transfer of equipment and materials, effective time management, ability to prioritize tasks, experience with C4I systems or combat systems, shipyard logistics and processes, Navy logistics, and experience with MRP or ERP process' or applications. Experience analyzing engineering/systems management data is also desired.

This position will require U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level. No travel is required.
