You'll work alongside former journalists and top-tier earned media strategists who get it—the future of B2B influence isn't in press releases, it's in conversations. Together, you'll map emerging voices, stay ahead of the curve on new platforms, and continue to build relationships that matter. This Goes Beyond Traditional PR As an internal consultant, you'll spend your days doing what you do best—living and breathing earned media strategy. You'll be a go-to expert our account teams turn to when they need to crack a tough story, navigate a crisis, or identify the perfect journalist for a breakthrough moment. Instead of being spread across general PR tasks, you'll dive deep into earned media every single day—analyzing coverage patterns, mapping emerging influencer networks, identifying the latest new media platforms (think Substacks, podcasts, influencers, and Reddit), and staying three steps ahead of industry evolution. You're not just another account lead; you're a trusted earned media advisor who helps elevate client storytelling across our roster. Responsibilities: Support earned media strategy team and discipline at Method, including maintaining best-in-class relationships, delivering highest quality strategy, developing effective toolkits, and championing ongoing training and development for PR SAE and AS roles on earned media skills Work with clients and account teams to develop and execute earned media strategy Serve as strategic thought partner to leadership in development of client narratives and storytelling Manage media relationships and curate targeted press lists Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and effective media coverage to meet and exceed client objectives Lead earned media strategy for new business pitches ensuring presentations are well researched, prepared, and polished What We’re Looking For: 8+ years’ experience in public relations, communications, marketing and/or related fields 6+ years’ experience in a media relations role; agency experience preferred Established skills as an earned media counselor for clients, including C-suite executives Strong understanding of and experience in the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of online/digital technology and social media See podcasts, creator networks, Reddit, and Substacks, not as trends but as the future of B2B influence Demonstrated top tier story placements in national outlets, including broadcast Ability to build, conceptualize and execute integrated communications programs that align with client business goals Deep network of relationships with top tier national and international media — journalists, analysts, and influencers in a variety of technology sectors Able to manage others and oversee multiple direct reports, working on both hard and soft skill development Expert-level editing and writing capabilities What’s it like to work here? $145,000 - $180,000 Work Arrangement The role is hybrid and required to work from Method’s hub office in San Francisco, California, at least two days per week.
