Role Overview As a Manager of Systems Reliability Engineering, you and your team are responsible for ensuring the lifetime reliability, durability, and availability of our autonomous sidewalk delivery robots. You will lead efforts to identify potential failure modes, conduct rigorous testing, and drive cross-functional initiatives to improve overall system robustness and uptime. You and your team will serve as key drivers of product and service improvement, leveraging both fleet data and lab testing to enhance the in-field performance and longevity of our robots. Responsibilities Lead issue triage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement mitigations and resolutions for identified high-occurrence and/or high-downtime issues, improving overall system uptime and availability
Manage and grow a team of best-in-class System Reliability Engineers
Develop and execute comprehensive reliability, durability, and lifetime test plans for the physical vehicle, including shock, drop, vibration, thermal, and ingress testing
Analyze maintenance, service, and repair data and on-call tickets to identify recurring issues, understand failure modes and frequencies, and use this data to inform, improve, and extend system reliability requirements
Design and execute targeted tests based on high-occurrence and/or high-downtime problems identified from field data
Drive corrective actions with engineering teams to address failures identified during reliability testing
Partner with fleet operations and on-call teams to reduce engineering dependency and enhance their efficiency in resolving issues
Qualifications B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent engineering field
8+ years of experience in the design, integration, and test of electromechanical systems
Experience developing and executing comprehensive test protocols for electromechanical and/or robotic systems
Experience in data analysis for both test results and field data, including probability and statistical analysis techniques
Hands-on approach to the test and debugging of electromechanical systems
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives
What Makes You Standout M.S., or Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent engineering field
Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics
Experience developing software scripts (Python, Bash) for automating reliability tests and data analysis
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
