Key Responsibilities

Assistant Manager – Role Overview

As Assistant Manager, you play a key leadership role in the store—often stepping in as the acting Store Manager and preparing to grow into that role yourself. You help bring the Topdrawer story to life through thoughtful leadership, operational ownership, and exceptional customer experience. Whether supporting a Store Manager or leading the store independently, you model creativity, accountability, and quiet confidence. You are both a mentor to your team and a brand ambassador, connecting people to our products, values, and philosophy of intentional living.

Customer Experience & Community

Deliver a welcoming, educational, and personalized customer experience Model Topdrawer’s values in every interaction, from product storytelling to service follow-up Support the Store Manager in building community connections with local partners and creative hubs

Team Support & Leadership

Assist in coaching, onboarding, and training new team members Support daily communication and delegation to ensure a smooth and productive shift Foster a kind, inclusive, and purpose-driven culture among the team

Store Operations & Merchandising

Support all operational tasks including opening/closing, inventory receiving, and cash handling Maintain visual standards, restocking, and product displays that reflect our curated, elegant assortment Collaborate with leadership on launching new products and campaigns

Sales & Business Growth

Help achieve store sales, conversion, and customer experience goals Monitor store metrics and assist with strategy adjustments when needed Ensure store standards are met in cleanliness, presentation, and team performance.

You Are

A natural collaborator and emerging leader with 1–2 years of retail experience Passionate about sustainability, creativity, and intentional living Reliable, detail-oriented, and energized by helping others grow Skilled in providing elevated customer service and connecting people to products with purpose Curious, coachable, and excited to learn more about retail operations and leadership Interested in product storytelling, visual merchandising, and the world of quiet design Why Join Topdrawer?
