During a typical week on the Product team, you will… Gather feedback, align priorities, and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders. Balance squashing of bugs and under-the-covers improvements alongside new features. Communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, whether it is a Slack message, email, or GitHub comment. Work on some of the most difficult and critical problems that the company encounters. Interview users to get feedback on new product features. Attend sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives with the development team. Validate that completed work meets the definition of done and provide approvals or feedback. Cumulus Product Owners have end-to-end responsibility for delivering impactful user experiences across our mobile and web platforms. As a Product Owner, you’ll work closely with developers, designers, and customers to shape features from concept through delivery. You'll own the backlog, define success, and drive execution—balancing user needs with business goals. At Cumulus, Product Owners collaborate with field teams, smart tool manufacturers, and integration partners to build cutting-edge solutions for industrial quality execution. This is a hands-on role where you’ll influence everything from roadmap strategy to the smallest UX detail. About you We’re looking for someone who is: Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment Excited to own and shape products that solve real-world problems Open to feedback and collaborative in a team setting Curious about how software, hardware, and data come together in complex environments Energized by working in a fast-moving, mission-critical startup setting Key Responsibilities Customer Collaboration & Requirements Development Conduct structured customer interviews to uncover needs, workflows, and requirements. Develop clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. Collaborate directly with customers to validate requirements, clarify priorities, and ensure alignment to real-world use cases. Produce mockups and prototypes in tools like Figma. Facilitate design reviews with customers to gather feedback and ensure designs address user needs. Coordinate with the Head of Product to prioritize the product backlog to deliver maximum customer and business value. Facilitate pre-grooming and grooming sessions with developers to ensure shared understanding of requirements. Provide in-sprint feedback and review incremental builds to guide development toward the target outcome. Release Planning & Support Prepare and review release notes and user guides to support successful adoption. Coordinate releases to production, supporting deployment and conducting training as needed. Conduct post-deployment interviews with customers to gather feedback on new features and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Qualifications 2–5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a software development environment. Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, from field worker to C-level executive Proven ability to articulate the differentiated value proposition of products and services Proven ability to position products against competitors Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills Strong problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams Proven experience conducting customer interviews to develop requirements and validate solutions. Strong ability to write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. Familiarity with design/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) is a plus. Strong preference for candidates based in the Boston or Houston metro areas. Construction industry experience is a plus. Seniority level
