Application Development Programmer/Analyst
This position serves as an application development programmer/analyst performing difficult and specialized professional work pertaining to the development, support, enhancement, and upgrade of client-server-based applications and web-based systems for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Department of Corrections (DOC). In this role, you will assist users in resolving problem areas encountered in the daily operation and use of client-server and web-based applications. In addition, you will conduct feasibility studies and evaluate user information technology needs and analyze alternatives. Essential Functions Under general direction, serves as an application development programmer/analyst performing difficult and specialized professional work pertaining to the development, support, enhancement, and upgrade of client-server-based applications and web-based systems for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Department of Corrections (DOC). Assists users in resolving problem areas encountered in the daily operation and use of client-server and web-based applications analyzing user requirements, hardware/software problems, and user/staff procedures. Conducts feasibility studies and studies for system conversions and enhancements. Evaluates user information technology needs and analyzes alternative approaches. Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
