U.S. Bancorp is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer Data & AI to lead the design and implementation of advanced security solutions across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. This role will focus on securing data pipelines, AI/ML platforms, and cloud-native applications, ensuring robust protection of sensitive data. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in embedding security into the lifecycle of AI systems, from data ingestion to model deployment, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and enterprise standards. The position will serve as a technical and functional lead across multiple security domain areas, supporting tools and technical controls to minimize security risks within the company. The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the following locations: Cincinnati, OH Minneapolis, MN Charlotte, NC Atlanta, GA Irving, TX Responsibilities: Lead the secure deployment and integration of AI, cloud and data security applications in a regulated environment. Serve as a subject matter expert and architect for AI/ML security, cloud security and data security solutions. Architect and automate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates to support secure application development and deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI/ML engineers, infrastructure, and risk management to embed security into the full application lifecycle. Provide technical leadership in securing modern application architectures while addressing complex data protection challenges across AI pipelines, model training environments, and intelligent data systems. Preferred Skills/Experience: Typically a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience Typically five or more years of relevant experience Advanced technical and functional subject matter expert knowledge across security domain areas Additional Qualifications: 7+ years working experience with cloud technologies or data engineering. Certifications such as Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, CCSK, or equivalent. Ability to lead AI/ML security, cloud security, and data security initiatives. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, security frameworks, and AI governance standards. Working experience with AI/ML and/or data security. Knowledge of adversarial ML, model security, data privacy, and data security techniques. Ability to lead the end-to-end execution of application development and seamless integration of diverse applications. Extensive experience working in a multi-cloud dynamic team environment. Experience with application deployment using CI/CD and IaC pipelines. Expertise in cloud computing and utilizing public cloud data stores like AWS S3, Azure BLOB, and Azure Files, along with various databases. Good knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), secret management, and encryption techniques. Comprehensive knowledge of security measures for both data at rest and data in motion. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or comparable experience). Experience with Kubernetes, microservices and/or serverless computing. Ability to work as a technical lead and provide guidance to non-technical team members.
