Sr. Data Scientist

KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Data Scientist to join our team supporting a U.S. Navy training program. This role will contribute to research designed to improve Warfighter training and performance at the individual, team, and multi-team level. Roles and Responsibilities
Research and develop data science and analysis tools for human factors and performance in naval aviation training. Provide data science, machine learning, and AI subject matter expertise to program management tasks. Conduct research in the implementation of machine learning, deep learning, GenAI, data management, and data engineering tools to facilitate big data analytics for aviation training data. Write programs for data exploration, data preprocessing, and feature engineering for AI applications. Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to develop, deploy, and integrate innovative data management and AI tools to automate training and debrief activities in naval aviation. Evaluate DoD-developed data management and analysis software. Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, chemistry or related technical field. 10 years of related experience as listed in the roles and responsibilities above. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
PhD degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, or related technical field. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Published author/contributor of research literature. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified. Experience in statistical analysis and data visualization using Python and R, SQL database engineering, and developing ML/AI pipelines and models.
