Job Title
Builds Web systems, using Java and J2EE in an Agile environment. Performs data engineering, using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Supports software application design, development, and support services, and configures Web containers, using Java, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Informatica workflows, Apache Camel Framework, Kafka, SWIFT and Web Services (SOAP/REST). Builds automation pipelines by leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Crafts new solutions within cloud-based architectures such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. Primary Responsibilities: Participates in architecture design teams. Defines and implements application-level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Java 8 based RESTful Web services for Financial Services, Mutual Fund, or Cash Management environments. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Java 8 based RESTful Web services for Financial Services, Mutual Fund, or Cash Management environments. Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing Java 8 based enterprise applications and services in Cloud to deliver custom software solutions in support of business operations, using RESTful Web Services, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes or SonarQube. DE designing and developing database schema and ORM mappings, using Hibernate, PL/SQL, stored procedures, transactional SQL, or Oracle database. DE collaborating with DevOps engineering, and quality assurance (QA) and enterprise level platform automation teams to automate Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines ensuring quality software delivery, using Junit, Cucumber, Mockito, or Jenkins pipelines. DE developing software engineering solutions using Agile methodologies and providing level-3 production support -- incident management -- to resolve critical issues in production and highly available environments using ServiceNow.
