Kinsa is recruiting for an R&D Commercialization Manager
Location:
San Antonio, TX (100% onsite, with relocation assistance)
With 50+ years under their belts, our client is a multi-site co-manufacturer with a wide range of capabilities, primarily baked goods. With a powerful and flexible combination of capabilities and capacity for manufacturing and logistics, they serve a variety of foodservice and retail clients. We are helping them find an R&D Commercialization Manager food scientist or baker to tackle important product development and commercialization projects. You'll need the demeanor to work cross-functionally within the organization and externally to support clients and stakeholders.
5+ years experience in product commercialization in baked goods. Degree in Food Science or culinary arts highly preferred. Excellent project management skills. Compensation/Benefits:
$110-120K base salary plus generous bonus Medical, Dental, Vision, Life. STD & LTD PTO & paid holidays Relocation assistance Key Responsibilities and Goals:
Lead cross-functional teams through the end-to-end commercialization process, from concept development to product launch. Ensure initiatives align with brand strategy, market trends, and customer insights. Collaborate with teams across Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to support product development and commercialization initiatives. Develop and manage detailed project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Collaborate with R&D and culinary teams to guide product formulation and packaging decisions. Partner with Operations and Engineering to establish and document scalable manufacturing processes. Identify opportunities to streamline commercialization workflows and implement best practices. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product launch success and post-launch performance. Drive continuous innovation and process improvement across teams. Competencies Needed for Success:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, or a related field. Additional AIB Certified Baker or Culinary Arts degree preferred. 5+ years experience in product commercialization in baked goods. Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical and process-related issues. Excellent project management skills. Deep passion for food, especially baked goods, and a strong commitment to the industry. Extensive knowledge of ingredients and their application in sweet goods and bread baking. Familiarity with industrial baking and packaging processes. Experience scaling up products across various production facilities. Strong understanding of product costing.
