Primary Purpose:

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Transportation, plan schedules and clerical duties supporting the Transportation Department.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED, Associate degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience:

Three years of clerical experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Job Duties:

Perform clerical duties and assist the Coordinator; facilitate communications between the Coordinator and staff, public and other school campus personnel. Reviews and proofs documents and records for accuracy. Receives, opens and distributes mail; receive visitors, arrange travel, schedule appointments, answer telephone calls and refer to appropriate staff. Coordinates activities of assigned office between the Supervisor and staff, the public or other school campus personnel. Prepares and maintains documentation relating to projects such as purchase orders, monthly payment requests and other related department paperwork. Maintains administrative files associated with transportation activities. Monitors budget and maintain financial records for the Transportation department; order and maintain office supplies and other materials; maintain current account balances. Operates computer equipment for the preparation and maintenance of documents, correspondence, reports and related materials; utilize word processing, desktop publishing database or other software as required by the position. Operates office machines and equipment, including typewriter, copier and fax. Arranges and schedule meetings and conference. Maintains all attendance and time records for Transportation personnel. Secures and maintains personnel records subject to State audit. Prepares reports for local, county, state and federal agencies. Schedules and computes cost of extracurricular trips. Completes and forwards accident forms for Transportation personnel as required. Performs any related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively; interpret policy, procedures and data. Work multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer terminal. Occasional in district and out of district travel.
