Transportation Lead
Located in Houston, TX, Morales Beverage Group seeks a Transportation Lead for the San Marcos location. Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, the Transportation Lead plays a key leadership role within the delivery team. In addition to performing all duties of a delivery driver, this position is responsible for supporting the coordination, training, and oversight of other drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and timely deliveries. The Transportation Lead will serve as a mentor and first point of contact for drivers in the field, and will help enforce safety, compliance, and customer service standards in alignment with MBG values. Leadership & Oversight Act as a point of contact for delivery drivers, offering guidance, support, and on-the-job training. Assist the Transportation Supervisor in organizing daily driver assignments and routes. Monitor team performance, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules, safety regulations, and company policies. Provide feedback on driver performance and contribute to performance reviews. Step in to resolve customer or delivery issues when escalated beyond standard protocol. Maintain accurate reporting on route completion, issues encountered, and team updates. Delivery Operations Safely transport goods to designated customer locations according to schedule. Overnight stays may be required. Assist with efficient loading/unloading of goods using hand jacks, forklifts, ramps, etc. Serve as a customer service model: represent MBG professionally and courteously during all deliveries. Ensure thorough documentation including inventory logs, invoices, signatures, and receipts. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report mechanical issues promptly, and maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicles. Support warehouse/logistics teams with inventory accuracy and delivery prep. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Frequent physical movement: bending, lifting, stretching, kneeling, etc. Operate hand trucks, dollies, power jacks, and ramps safely and efficiently. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 12 years of delivery driving experience required; leadership experience preferred. Hold a valid and current Class B driver's license or higher and ensure reliable, insured transportation is maintained. Driving record must be within MVR policy guidelines throughout employment. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening for hire and randomly throughout employment. Strong time management, customer service, and communication skills. Proficiency in using GPS systems and operating multiple mobile device platforms. This position requires flexibility, including but not limited to availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
