Accounts Payable Specialist
Join a strong Accounting and Finance team with a long standing Non Profit. Provides valuable opportunities to collaborate with experienced colleagues. Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and timely. Enter and maintain financial data in accounting systems such as QuickBooks. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues. Prepare and process payments via checks, ACH, or electronic transfers. Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions and supporting documents. Monitor and manage vendor relationships, responding to inquiries as needed. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to AP. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Generate and maintain AP reports and spreadsheets, often using Excel. Support other accounting tasks as assigned, including basic bookkeeping duties. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits. Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including creating and managing spreadsheets. Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Strong organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines. Good communication skills for vendor interactions and internal collaboration. Experience working in a non-profit setting is a plus but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Flexibility to work part-time hours, typically 20-25 hours per week. Strong pay and a competitive benefits structure.
